Oldies But Goldies
These are the first comics I made, using those "Create your own South Park character" generators and Photoshop. I eventually made the switch to hand drawn comics when I realized that I didn't want to consider any legal complications from using figures that really weren't totally mine.

Issue 1 - "Warped Tour"

The first issue ever ever. Introduces Brett and Jay when they were still known as Bill and Jared. This was conceived back when my art skills were less than par, and the whole "create-your-own-SP-character" fad was in. It was quick, looked good, and was sufficient when all I was doing was a "talking-heads" comic. This "sunday strip" format was kept for most of the early issues on Facebook and Livejournal.

Issue 2 - "Soul Mates"

Brett & co. have nerd battles...a lot. I wanted to introduce some of the female characters as well as establish the boys duking it out with armor and swords, assuming grandiose psuedonyms and potentially earning a trip to the emergency room...

The name "Lord Zarkon" which Franky uses to refer to Brett in this comic is a reference to the real-life Crazy Joe who uses Zarkon as his handle on X-Box Live.

Issue 3 - "Diner Kids"

Like all NJ kids living in the suburbs, Brett and his friends frequent one diner ALL the time. Doesn't matter if it's 2:00 in the afternoom or the morning. The 24-hr diner is THE staple of middle-class NJ young adults. Unfortunately, the college-age crowd tends to catch flak (albeit, somethings deservedly) but often without provocation from people who consider them freeloaders and rabble. And they wonder why we only tip 10%.....

Issue 4 - "Photobooth Phun"

Another activity - which I'm mostly convinced has NJ origins - is cramming as many people into a photobooth as humanly possible. Inspired almost frame-for-frame from an actual photobooth experience.

Issue 5 - "Nerd Battle"

Nerd battle en force. Much of it based on my desire to include an "eye beam pwnage" joke.

Issue 6 - "Sentimental Edition"

This was a tribute to the friends who continually inspired this series. After modifying practically every figure in this issue, I decided that it was time to start drawing them myself....
